Hopium Reaffirms Its Strategy for Decarbonizing Maritime Transport
Hopium showcased its hydrogen fuel cell technology at the Hyvolution Paris event and reaffirmed its strategic focus on decarbonizing heavy transport by 2030, with a priority on the maritime sector.
Strategic Initiatives for Heavy Transport Decarbonization
Hopium aims to decarbonize heavy transport by 2030 by targeting pioneering markets in the short term, including stationary applications through its subsidiary Hynesis, maritime transport, and specific road applications such as buses and garbage trucks. The company presented its 100 kW fuel cell and a model of its 200 kW system, demonstrating its ability to adapt its technology to specific needs.
Maritime Development and Strategic Partnerships
In its maritime development, Hopium relies on a key partnership with K-Challenge to develop a hydrogen-powered boat. The Delavergne shipyard will handle the construction of the vessel incorporating Hopium's marinized 200 kW fuel cell, which is currently undergoing testing. A partnership with Argo-Anleg complements this approach by providing an ultra-mobile hydrogen refueling station. Hopium continues its commitment by participating in the Euromaritime exhibition in Marseille until February 5, 2026.
