ADP Stock Plummets by 5%, Weighed Down by Escalation in the Middle East
The Paris-region airport operator experiences a significant drop during the session, in a Paris market heavily penalized by the new escalation in the Middle East. The stock erases its recent rebound and joins the bottom of the SBF 120, alongside other air transport stocks.
A Drop that Brings the Stock Below its Key Moving Averages
ADP stock loses 4.92% to €110.20, down from €115.90 the previous day. The stock is among the biggest losers in the SBF 120, as the broader index drops 2.21%. The session wipes out the rebound that began in early July, when the stock had approached the resistance at €115.70. The decline brings the price below the 20-day moving average (MM20) at €111.72 (a gap of -1.36%) and keeps it under the 200-day moving average (MM200) at €113.51 (a gap of -2.92%), while the 50-day moving average (MM50) at €109.21 still offers a slight cushion. The RSI at 59 remains in the neutral zone, placing today's movement halfway between a technical correction and a reaction to an external shock. The support at €102.30 remains distant, with the €109 zone being the first support to watch in the short term.

The drop occurs in a context of a new direct military escalation between Washington and Tehran, following American strikes and an Iranian-claimed retaliation on military installations in Kuwait and Bahrain. Since the NATO summit in Ankara, Donald Trump has declared the ceasefire with Iran over, which caused the VIX to jump 20.3% to 18.73. Stocks sensitive to air transport costs are particularly affected: Air France-KLM loses more than 5% in the same session. Moreover, the traffic context remains unencouraging, with passenger traffic in Europe down by 0.7% in April 2026 according to ACI Europe, and the Paris-CDG platform stable over the month. Financially, the company had confirmed during the 2025 annual results (published on March 13, 2026) a guidance for current EBITDA above €2.35 billion for 2026, backed by expected traffic growth between 1.5% and 2.5%.
