Air Liquide has won its largest contract ever in Spain, with the Valencia region entrusting the company with the homecare of over 90,000 patients suffering from respiratory diseases for a duration of four years.
An Agreement Covering 11 Health Departments in the Valencia Region
The Valencia region in Spain has awarded Air Liquide the responsibility of providing homecare for more than 90,000 patients with respiratory diseases. Described as historic by the company, the contract spans 11 health departments and will last for four years. The autonomous regional governments in Spain remain responsible for organizing health resources and the modalities for outsourcing these services. The group acknowledges this award as a recognition of its operational excellence and its digital and artificial intelligence solutions.
Continuous Remote Monitoring and Predictive Algorithms at the Core of Care
Air Liquide will manage patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and sleep apnea by offering personalized care plans. The company will implement continuous remote monitoring from the start of the care for 100% of the patients. The system incorporates AI-based predictive algorithms to identify, within the first week, sleep apnea patients at high risk of non-compliance. The teams then prioritize non-adherent patients and coordinate with doctors to adjust their interventions accordingly. This approach combines human expertise and digital solutions to enhance therapeutic adherence while reducing the strain on healthcare systems.
A Multidisciplinary Team and a Dedicated App for Mask Selection
Air Liquide will establish a multidisciplinary team consisting of technicians, doctors, nurses, and social workers who will work closely with prescribing services. The company will also deploy MaskMate, an Air Liquide app designed for personalized mask selection, along with specific clinical protocols for high-risk pathologies such as obesity hypoventilation syndrome (OHS). Diana Schillag, a member of the Air Liquide Executive Committee overseeing the Health sector, stated: 'This new contract illustrates our ability to provide innovative health services to homecare patients, in close coordination with healthcare professionals.
