Amundi's Share Hits a Record High at €90.30, Breaking Its Resistance
The asset manager continues its climb, reaching a new all-time high in early Paris trading. The stock has broken through a resistance level closely watched for several weeks, following a divestiture in India that resulted in a significant capital gain.
A New Historical High at €90.30 Extends the Stock's Momentum
Amundi's stock rose 0.95% to €90.15 in mid-morning trading, after touching €90.30 during the session, a record high. The stock thus confirms the breach of its resistance at €89.85, surpassed earlier this Monday and which it continues to hold above. The stock has gained 8.03% over the past month and 25.64% over the year, taking the asset manager to levels never seen since its IPO. This movement follows the IPO of SBI Funds Management on the Indian markets, after which Amundi sold 3.7% of the joint venture's capital for a net gain of approximately 300 million euros after taxes and fees, revealed on July 17. The Parisian context remains supportive, with the CAC 40 up 0.32% and the SBF 120 advancing 0.30% during the session.
A Tight Technical Setup with the Price 19% Above the 200-Day Moving Average
In terms of indicators, the stock is significantly above its three main moving averages, with a gap of nearly 19% to the 200-day moving average (€75.69) and 4.4% to the 20-day moving average (€86.35). This configuration reflects the strength of the trend since spring, with the stock already up 14.04% over three months. The RSI at 62 remains in a high zone without yet indicating a clear overbought condition, while the MACD continues to trend positively (line at 1.47 above its signal at 1.14). Beyond €90, there are no previous technical levels, and the next round figure is at €95. Regarding flows, Amundi also set a goal in late June to gather €150 billion in net new money in Asia by 2028, a growth avenue that adds to the strengthening of its presence in India through SBI Funds Management. The immediate support, formerly a resistance now surpassed, is established at €89.85.
