Argan Delivers Low-Carbon Refrigerated Warehouse to Danone in Sorigny
On Tuesday, Argan delivered a new refrigerated warehouse to Danone located in Sorigny (37), in the Grand Ouest region. The 8,200 sqm facility, which includes 6,400 sqm of positive cold storage, incorporates innovations from the Aut0nom® label featuring a 580 kWp photovoltaic plant and storage batteries for energy self-consumption.
A State-of-the-Art Warehouse with Energy Self-Consumption
The warehouse developed by Argan in Sorigny covers a total area of 8,200 sqm, with 6,400 sqm dedicated to positive cold storage (2/6 °C). The site includes a nearly 3,000 sqm rooftop photovoltaic plant, generating a power of 580 kWp, complemented by storage batteries with a capacity of 230 kWh. This setup will enable a 35% reduction in CO2 emissions from the site.
The project exemplifies the shared approach of Argan and Danone towards responsible logistics, balancing operational performance with carbon footprint reduction.
A Long-Term Lease of Nine Years Confirming the Project's Sustainability
Argan and Danone have committed to a nine-year firm long-term lease. The Sorigny site replaces the previous warehouse operated by Danone in Chambray-les-Tours and is located just a few kilometers away.
Located within the Isoparc of Sorigny, the new warehouse benefits from a strategic location directly connected to the A10 highway, in close proximity to the A85 and about fifteen kilometers south of Tours.
A Site Integrated into a Structured Regional Logistics Dynamic
The Sorigny site is part of an established territorial dynamic. The Isoparc already hosts more than 100,000 sqm of developed logistics surfaces, 1,400 employees, and around thirty companies.
