Arkema Appoints Laurent Tellier as Chief Operating Officer Effective July 1, 2026
Arkema announced on Friday the appointment of Laurent Tellier as Chief Operating Officer effective July 1, 2026. He will succeed Marc Schuller, who will step down after serving in this role since the company's IPO in 2006.
A Planned Succession in Specialty Chemicals
Laurent Tellier will oversee all of the group's business segments: Adhesives (Bostik), Advanced Materials (Performance Additives and High Performance Polymers), Coating Solutions, and Primary Materials. During an interim period of a few months, he will continue to lead the High Performance Polymers and Fluorinated Gases activities until the arrival of his successor, whose external recruitment has just been finalized. Tellier's appointment is justified by his experience: over 25 years in the chemical industry and internationally, particularly in the group's three major regions of operation (Asia, Americas, Europe). A graduate of École Polytechnique and École des Ponts ParisTech, he worked for 20 years at Saint-Gobain before joining Arkema in February 2023 as Deputy General Manager of Performance Additives.
Transition and Departure of Marc Schuller
Marc Schuller will remain a member of the executive committee until September 30, 2026, as a special advisor to the CEO Thierry Le Hénaff. This period will ensure a smooth transition with Laurent Tellier, the teams, and the clients. Schuller is stepping down after having held the role of Chief Operating Officer since Arkema's IPO in 2006.
