Arverne: 26 million tonnes of lithium evaluated in Alsace
Arverne has released the results of an independent evaluation of lithium resources from its permit portfolio in Alsace, conducted by the Sproule ERCE firm. This step is part of the development of the Lithium de France project, ahead of reserve certification expected in the first quarter of 2027.
Sproule ERCE quantifies geothermal lithium resources
According to the evaluation conducted by Sproule ERCE, an international firm specializing in resource certification, indicated and inferred resources are estimated at 26 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent, with a total exploration potential reaching 43 million tonnes on the Exclusive Research Permits (PER) held by Arverne in Alsace.
The estimate covers the PER Les Sources alcalines, Plaine du Rhin, Les Poteries minérales and Les Coteaux minéraux, with the PER Plaine du Rhin and Les Coteaux minéraux currently under review. It follows the acquisition of data, including the 3D exploration campaign and the first two wells drilled at Schwabwiller.
According to Arverne, this evaluation confirms the robustness of the initial estimates made in 2022-2023. The study was conducted in accordance with the international mining standard NI 43-101.
Reserve certification expected in the first quarter of 2027
Arverne indicates that the total exploration potential exceeds the requirements of the Lithium de France development plan. The next phase, concerning reserve certification, is expected during the first quarter of 2027.
Pierre Brossollet, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Arverne, states that these results strengthen the fundamentals of the Lithium de France project, presented by the group as capable of supporting production over 30 years and meeting the annual needs of approximately 800,000 electric vehicles.
Based in Pau, the company, which positions itself as France's leading provider of geothermal solutions and is listed on Euronext Paris, will publish its half-year results on September 23, 2026 after market close.
