Ateme: Its Video Compression Technology Featured by Apple at WWDC 26
Ateme announced on Tuesday that its video compression technology was featured by Apple during its Worldwide Developers Conference 2026, as a solution compatible with Apple Immersive workflows. This recognition positions the French video editor as a key player in the immersive broadcasting chain.
Technological Recognition in the Apple Immersive Ecosystem
Ateme's ability to handle the entire immersive signal chain, from acquisition to broadcast, was featured by Apple at WWDC26. The solution relies on the TITAN and NEA product ranges. The SMPTE ST 2110-22 format with Apple ProRes can now be used to feed the encoder with unprecedented resolution and frame rates, marking an advancement in content fidelity according to the release.
Multiview HEVC Compression and Spatial Audio Integration
The immersive workflow is based on Multiview HEVC (MV-HEVC) compression and HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) encapsulation. The solution incorporates Ateme's AI-boosted encoding technology, an ability that has been awarded an Emmy. Collaboration with NVIDIA has helped meet the considerable pixel processing needs. On the audio side, the solution includes the Apple Spatial Audio Format (ASAF) with the Apple Positional Audio Codec (APAC). The NEA platform also opens up advertising insertion opportunities, enabling the monetization of the immersive experience.
Ateme, Global Leader in Video Compression
Ateme, a global leader in video compression and broadcasting solutions, has 550 employees spread between its headquarters in France and 20 global offices. In 2025, the company served nearly 1,000 clients with a turnover of €96 million, more than 90% of which was outside its domestic market. Mickael Raulet, CTO of Ateme, stated that this recognition by Apple is a testament to the company's commitment to delivering premium, large-scale immersive experiences.
