Audacia: Closure of Quantonation II Fund at €220 Million
Quantonation Ventures, a management company partnered with Audacia, has closed its second fund dedicated to quantum technologies at €220 million, surpassing its initial target of €200 million. This fundraising brings the total capital raised by Quantonation Ventures since its inception in 2018 to approximately €325 million.
Successful Closing of Quantonation II
Quantonation Ventures, the first venture capital fund dedicated to quantum technologies established in 2018, has finalized the closure of its second fund, Quantonation II. The fund raised €220 million, oversubscribed compared to the initial goal of €200 million. Subscribers include key investors from the first fund and new investors, notably from North America and Asia. Quantonation Ventures, headquartered in Paris and New York, operates investments across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.
Performance of the Initial Fund
The first fund, Quantonation I, launched in 2018, raised €91 million and supported 27 companies across more than ten countries. Quantonation Ventures has assisted nearly 40 companies in total and has venture labs located in major global academic research centers, as well as partnerships with industrial and institutional players. The fund operates in the areas of high-performance computing, secure communications, drug design, and ultra-precise detection.
Audacia's Strategic Involvement
Founded in 2006, Audacia has been a shareholder in Quantonation Ventures since the fund's inception in 2018. This participation marks Audacia's entry into the financing of disruptive technological innovations. Since its establishment, Audacia has invested over one billion euros in more than 400 companies. Audacia is accredited by the Financial Markets Authority as an AIFM management company.
