Bouygues Construction Acquires Vannoy Construction, Targets €873M Revenue in 2025
Bouygues Construction has completed the acquisition of Vannoy Construction, one of the leading general contractors in the Southeastern United States. This significant transaction, finalized on June 30 in Charlotte, marks a major milestone in the French construction giant's international expansion strategy.
A Strategic Acquisition for the Southeastern American Market
Bouygues Construction finalized the acquisition of Vannoy Construction on June 30, a general contracting firm based in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. By 2025, Vannoy Construction generated a revenue of €873 million, approximately $1.007 billion at the June 2026 EUR/USD exchange rate. The American company operates in high-potential sectors: healthcare, education, industry, and distribution. It has a strong order book, which Bouygues Construction views as a reflection of its clients' enduring confidence. Founded in 1952 by Jim and Wilma Vannoy in Jefferson, North Carolina, Vannoy Construction now has seven regional offices. The deal allows Bouygues Construction to expand its presence in one of the most dynamic regions of the United States, driven by strong demographic growth and significant investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, industrial buildings, and data centers.
Integration into a Global Expansion Strategy
This acquisition is part of the ongoing international strategy of Bouygues Construction, which posted a revenue of €10.6 billion in 2025. The group continues to expand in stable and dynamic markets in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and North America. Already present in Florida, Rhode Island, and Washington DC, Bouygues Construction is thus strengthening its position on the American East Coast. The acquisition also opens up synergies within the Bouygues group: entities such as Equans and Colas are already present in the region, which will allow, according to the group, the creation of bridges to increase added value for clients. Pierre-Éric Saint-André, CEO of Bouygues Construction, states that this operation 'will support the development potential of Vannoy Construction and bring resilience to Bouygues Construction's growth model in mature economies.'
Preserving Identity and Governance
Bouygues Construction intends to support the growth of Vannoy Construction while preserving its core elements: family DNA, client proximity, execution quality, and team commitment. Mark Vannoy, president of Vannoy Construction, emphasizes that the transaction marks 'a new chapter' but 'certainly not a break.' The management team, brand, and culture remain unchanged, continuing its previous governance.
