Bouygues Telecom Launches Kid Mode, Its Free Integrated Parental Control
Bouygues Telecom announced on Tuesday the launch of Kid Mode, a parental control solution offered for free to customers of its BiG plan. Accessible through the operator's app, this service aims to meet the growing demand from families concerning the digital habits of children.
Addressing a Fragmented and Underutilized Market
According to an Ipsos study cited by the operator, only 23% of French families currently use a parental control solution, with parents finding these tools too technical and complex. Bouygues Telecom positions Kid Mode as the first solution integrated directly into the operator's app, working regardless of the child's device (smartphone, tablet, computer), network (Wi-Fi and mobile), and platform (iOS or Android).
The free offer for BiG clients includes real-time screen time monitoring, web filtering, safe search, and device geolocation. An Advanced Kid Mode service is available for €4.99 per month per household, with additional features: blocking of social networks and apps according to time slots, immediate internet pause, daily screen time limit, and automatic disconnection routines.
Available for Sale Starting Late June 2026
The Kid Mode service will be available for sale from June 22, 2026, in Bouygues Telecom stores. The operator offers in-store support for the installation and use of the service. Benoît Torloting, CEO of Bouygues Telecom, states: 'Our goal is to make parental control child's play.'
The service is operated by Qustodio Technologies. It does not require the creation of an email account for children or the provision of a credit card. The service is limited to 5 children simultaneously.
