CSG Appoints David Jacobs as Head of its Defense Division in North America
The industrial and technological group CSG announced on Tuesday the appointment of David Jacobs as President of CSG Defense North America. Jacobs will lead the new Washington, D.C. office and will report directly to Michal Strnad, the majority owner and chairman of the group.
A Seasoned Defense Executive to Lead the New American Branch
David Jacobs will take the helm of CSG's presence in Washington, D.C., tasked with setting the long-term strategic direction for the group's defense activities in North America, leading merger and acquisition efforts, and strengthening relationships within the American defense ecosystem, with the government, and in investment circles. Jacobs has spent over 15 years in the defense sector, at Northrop Grumman and Raytheon, recently holding the position of Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions at Northrop Grumman, where he advised the CEO and board of directors on portfolio and corporate strategy issues.
Over 60 Transactions Worth a Cumulative $200 Billion
Prior to his defense career, Jacobs spent ten years in investment banking at Merrill Lynch in London and Chicago, where he advised Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 clients on mergers and acquisitions and capital market transactions. Throughout his career, he has successfully completed over 60 transactions with a cumulative value exceeding $200 billion. He holds an undergraduate degree and a master's degree from the University of Cambridge.
An Appointment Coinciding with CSG's Accelerated Growth in the U.S.
This appointment comes at a time of accelerated growth for CSG in the American defense market. Last year, the U.S. Army awarded a major contract to MSM Group North America, a subsidiary of CSG, for one of its most significant industrial base modernization projects: the design, construction, and commissioning of a modern and efficient facility for loading, assembling, and packaging 155 mm ammunition at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant.
