Video game studio Don't Nod announced on January 14 the co-opting of Nicolas Viénot as an independent director, according to a company statement. This appointment comes as a replacement for Julie Chalmette, who will now focus on her role as Deputy Managing Director.
Professional Background of Nicolas Viénot
Nicolas Viénot, aged 46, is a managing partner and co-founder of Alloy Technology Partners, the statement notes. The new board member boasts over 20 years of experience in investment banking, having led various financial and strategic operations internationally, including fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, and capital restructuring. Prior to joining Alloy Technology Partners, Nicolas Viénot held the position of Executive Director at Alantra, where he founded and led the Gaming department, advising investors and founders of studios or publishers in the sector. Based in Paris, he also spent nearly 10 years in the United Kingdom during his career.
Ratification of Appointment at the Next General Meeting
The co-optation of Nicolas Viénot must be ratified at the next general meeting of shareholders, the company specifies. Oskar Guilbert, CEO of Don't Nod, emphasizes in the statement that the arrival of the new member brings a complementary perspective and a different financial and strategic vision to the board, derived from twenty years of market and transaction experience. According to the executive, this complementarity is an asset to support the group's strategy for profitable growth, in a context where financial discipline and sustainable value creation are central priorities.

The board of directors of Don't Nod now consists of four members, according to the statement. In addition to Nicolas Viénot as an independent director, the board includes Oskar Guilbert, CEO and director, as well as Kostadin Dimitrov Yanev and Julien Barès, both directors. Julie Chalmette, a former board member, will continue to serve in her executive role as Deputy Managing Director.
