Elis Shares Drop Over 2% Breaking Support at €25.72
The specialist in circular services continues its correction mid-session, amidst a stable CAC 40. The stock breaks a closely watched technical threshold and erases a portion of its recent gains, while volatility remains contained in the Parisian market.
A Break of the €25.72 Support Weakens Technical Positioning
Elis shares fell by 2.24% to €25.34, while the SBF 120 edged up by 0.05%. The stock broke its support at €25.72 during the session, a threshold that had held during previous declines, and is now hovering close to its 200-day moving average (€25.40), testing it within a few cents. The gap with shorter averages has widened significantly: the price remains about 6% below the MM20 (€27.00) and the MM50 (€26.84), indicating that the short-term momentum has reversed since the peak in early July.
The RSI at 40 reflects this fatigue without tipping into oversold territory, while the weekly decline reaches nearly 8%, erasing most of the 5% surge recorded during the July 3 session. This drop places the stock among the largest declines in the SBF 120, going against the prevailing calm. The next level to watch is now the MM200, whose performance will condition the medium-term technical reading.
A Market Environment Strained by Oil and Geopolitical Tensions
The Paris session unfolds against a backdrop of renewed tensions in the Middle East, with resumed strikes between Washington and Tehran. Brent crude, which jumped to around $78 a barrel on Wednesday before retreating to $76.30 on Thursday, remains well above its end-of-June level, sustaining a persistent risk premium on energy markets. The VIX, at 16 points, is down more than 5%, indicating that equity indices are absorbing these shocks for now. The CAC 40 is stable at 8,328 points, and the DAX is up by 0.7%.
On the corporate front, the group has recently continued its external growth operations, with the finalization of the acquisition of ServBrazil on July 3, a month after acquiring RS10 in Spain. The group had also encountered resistance at €28.22 on July 7, a ceiling that remains the high reference for any recovery. The next factual milestone will be the publication of the semi-annual sales figures, expected at the end of July.
