Gecina Awarded at BBCA Trophies and Ranked #1 in France for Low-Carbon Renovation
In a press release published on September 3, 2026, the real estate company details the distinctions obtained at the BBCA Trophies, awarded by the BBCA Association on the occasion of the Low-Carbon Real Estate Fair (SIBCA).
These awards focus on the renovation and transformation of its portfolio, an axis presented as central to its decarbonization approach.
BBCA Grand Prize for Residential Renovation for the Paris Dareau Operation
Gecina indicates that it won the BBCA Grand Prize for Residential Renovation for its Paris Dareau operation, in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. This former office building was transformed into a residential complex of 92 apartments, delivered in September 2024.
Designed with the architectural firm Viguier, this transformation is distinguished by the preservation of 80% of the floors and facades, complemented by extensions and a building height increase constructed in wood structure. The approach is accompanied by work on circular economy and material reuse (stone, radiators, gravel slabs, glass pavers).
The residence benefits from NF Habitat HQE Excellent level certifications and labels, BBCA Excellence, BBC Effinergie Renovation and BiodiverCity.
Multiple First Place Rankings in the Low-Carbon Project Owners Index
Beyond Paris Dareau, the Group ranks four times on the podiums of the 2026 BBCA Index of low-carbon project owners, including three times in first place. Gecina ranks #1 in France for surfaces committed to renovation, both in cumulative production since 2016 and over the twelve-month period ending July 15, 2026.
The Group also holds the 1st place ranking for office surfaces (new construction and renovation) committed over the past twelve months, and ranks 2nd French project owner in terms of low-carbon production surface committed over the same period.
Gecina attributes this recognition to its strategy of transforming existing assets. The Group indicates that over ten years, 65% of its office portfolio has been transformed or restructured, presented as a lever for reducing its carbon footprint and adapting its portfolio to new uses.
