Getlink: truck traffic rises, cars decline in August
Getlink published its August Shuttle traffic statistics on September 4, 2026. Freight and tourism volumes are moving in opposite directions, extending a divergence already observed since the beginning of the fiscal year.
According to Getlink's press release, LeShuttle Freight transported 90,033 trucks in August 2026, up 5% compared to 86,090 trucks in August 2025.
Since January 1st, more than 780,000 trucks have crossed the Channel aboard the Shuttles, or 781,775 units over January-August 2026 compared to 778,237 over the same period in 2025, remaining flat (0%).

Also according to Getlink, LeShuttle transported 318,524 passenger vehicles in August 2026, down 5% compared to 334,846 vehicles in August 2025. This total includes cars, motorcycles, vehicles with trailers, caravans, motorhomes and coaches.
Over the first eight months, nearly 1,550,000 passenger vehicles were transported, or 1,547,581 units compared to 1,588,052 a year earlier, down 3%. The next publication, covering September figures, is scheduled for October 8, 2026 before market opening.
