Imerys share breaks through its support at €23.14 and loses 5.5% in one week
The industrial minerals specialist is among the biggest decliners in the SBF 120 this Friday, in a Paris market that is otherwise well-oriented. The security broke through a technical threshold monitored during the session and is now in contact with several key moving averages.
A downward breakthrough of the support level that places the security at the bottom of the index
During the session, Imerys is down 2.1% at €23.28 and is among the biggest losers in the SBF 120, while the Paris index is up nearly 1% in the same period. The contrast is striking: the security is evolving against the day's trend. The most significant episode is the downward breakthrough of the support at €23.14, reached during the session with a last price at €23.12.
This level had so far contained the successive declines of the security. The decline is part of a difficult week: the rebound that began on Monday, which then brought the security to its resistance at €25.02, has completely faded, with the decline reaching nearly 5.7% over seven days. The SBF 120 is rising in the same period, which accentuates the unfavorable nature of today's configuration for the security.
Moving averages tightening their grip around the current price
With a price at €23.28, the security finds itself in a tight technical configuration. It is moving below its 20-day MA at €24.08 (spread of -3.32%), while remaining just above its 50-day MA at €23.10 and in contact with its 200-day MA at €23.19. These last two averages now form a very narrow support zone, less than 0.2% below the current price.
The RSI at 49 remains neutral and signals neither oversold nor overbought conditions, which does not provide a clear directional indication at this stage. Brent is down 3.44% during the session at $103.93 per barrel, in a context marked by inflationary tensions and petroleum supply disruptions linked to ship attacks and restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz. The 50-day MA at €23.10 now constitutes the closest floor to watch for the rest of the session.
