Nearly 17% decline in three months: Eiffage stock attempts a 1.5% rebound
The construction and highway concession group is rebounding sharply during the session, in a CAC 40 showing slight gains. This recovery comes after a prolonged decline that has left it well below its moving averages. Midway through the session, the CAC 40 is displaying calm trading.
A 1.35% rebound that does not erase the quarterly decline
The Eiffage share gained 1.35% to €100.80 during the session, while the CAC 40 advanced 0.25%. This rebound remains modest compared to the 16.76% decline over three months: it mitigates it without reducing it significantly. Over the week, the security recovers 1.78%, but the share still falls 5.35% over one month, while Bouygues declines more sharply with -6.56% over the same period. Vinci, for its part, gains 0.99% this Thursday.
The price is trading below its three moving averages: the 20-day MA at €102.61 is 1.76% above the current price, while the 200-day MA at €125.14 is more than 24% above it. The RSI at 32.85 reflects the selling fatigue of recent weeks, in a zone close to oversold territory. The support level at €98.72 is only approximately 2% below the current price.
A semester under pressure from declining highway traffic
During the publication of first-half 2026 results on July 28, the group had announced it was anticipating activity growth of a smaller magnitude than in 2025. Among the risks cited, total traffic on APRR and AREA declined 2.5%, affected by the rise in fuel prices. Conversely, the order book for Works increased 7% year-over-year. The construction sector context remains difficult: according to economic indicators, production in France declined 5.0% year-over-year and order books are at -33.
On valuation, the consensus of surveyed analysts places the share at approximately 8.9 times current fiscal year earnings. According to consulted filings, two funds hold a combined net short position of 1.13% of capital, rising rapidly over one month. This level remains modest and warrants monitoring without over-interpreting it. The support level at €98.72 is the technical level to watch in the coming sessions.
