Nexans Secures a €600 Million Framework Contract with Enedis
Nexans has entered into a framework contract with Enedis for the supply of medium voltage (MV) cables over a period of 7 years (2026-2032), with an optional extension of 3 years. The total value of the contract is €600 million.
Contract Details
Nexans has signed a framework contract with Enedis to supply medium voltage (MV) cables designed to support the modernization and strengthening of the French electrical network. The cables will be used for all 20 kV MV applications for underground networks, including connections to electric vehicle charging infrastructure, undergrounding of lines, and linking renewable energy parks across France. The contract was signed on February 4, 2026, with deliveries starting in the first quarter of 2026.
Financial and Duration Aspects
The framework contract is valued at €600 million and spans a total of 7 years, from 2026 to 2032, including an optional 3-year extension. The average annual delivery volume is doubled compared to the previous contract. The cables will primarily be manufactured in France at the Bourg-en-Bresse site, with production capacity secured by a secondary site in Battipaglia, Italy.
Industrial Investment and Sustainability
The contract is supported by a major industrial investment of €15 million at the Bourg-en-Bresse site, which will increase production capacities for 400 mm² aluminum sections and cables with enhanced direct burial capabilities (EDR). Nexans highlights the integration of recycled aluminum and recycled polyethylene (PE) in its cables, in line with its PEP ecopassport declarations.
