Renault Group: Stable Sales in H1 2026, Electrified Vehicles Reach 52% in Europe

In the first half of 2026, Renault Group delivered 1,165,133 vehicles, a slight decrease of 0.4% compared to the same period in 2025. Beneath this apparent stability, a transformation of the portfolio is taking shape: the share of electrified vehicles increased by 8.2 points to 52% of sales in Europe, while the group adjusts its mix towards more profitable channels and higher quality vehicles. However, Dacia experienced a decline of 8.7% in Europe, indicating tensions in the entry-level segment.

Stable Global Volumes Amidst Brand Divergence

The total sales of the group remained nearly unchanged at 1,165,133 units, a minimal retreat of 0.4% compared to the first half of 2025. In Europe, the passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (PC + LCV) segment saw a slight contraction of 1.3% to 821,092 vehicles. However, this trajectory hides disparate performances within the brand portfolio.

Renault, the group's main brand, grew by 2.6% in Europe and consolidated its second-place market position. Alpine recorded a spectacular increase of 67.6%, reaching a record semester with 8,222 vehicles. Conversely, Dacia fell by 8.7% in Europe, although the release highlights a sequential improvement in the second quarter and the maintenance of a podium position in sales to private customers.

The group is significantly accelerating its electric pivot. In Europe, the share of electrified vehicles increased by 8.2 points to reach 52% of sales in the first half of 2026, including 18.8% of fully electric vehicles. This acceleration is driven by Renault, where two-thirds of the vehicles sold in Europe (66.3%) are now electrified, and by Alpine, which has crossed the threshold of 80% in pure electric sales thanks to the success of the Alpine A290 and the initial deliveries of the Alpine A390.

Dacia is also part of this movement, with 30.8% of its sales electrified, and notably a robust increase in hybrids (+30.2%) thanks to the Duster and Bigster. The group is also strengthening its presence in high-margin channels: 60% of passenger car sales are made to private customers, an increase of 3.8 points and a gap of 17.7 points above the overall European market.

Busy Launch Schedule to Consolidate the Electric Offensive

The group announces a busy launch schedule for 2026. In the first half, Renault Twingo E-Tech electric and Renault Duster for India hit the roads. By the end of the year, Renault Trafic Van E-Tech electric, Renault Niagara in Latin America, a new Dacia Spring, Dacia Sandero in hybrid, Dacia Striker, and Alpine A390 in GTS version will follow. Internationally, strategic markets show dynamics: growth of 61.2% in India, 15.4% in Turkey, 13.7% in Morocco, and 5.3% in Brazil. In Europe, the order book represents 2.1 months of forecast sales at the end of June 2026, providing visibility for the coming quarters.
