Poxel Appoints Yves Decadt as CEO, Succeeding Nicolas Trouche
Poxel announced on Wednesday the appointment of Yves Decadt as CEO effective immediately. He succeeds Nicolas Trouche, whose term was intended to oversee the restructuring initiated in August 2025 and the implementation of the continuation plan approved by the court in January 2026.
A Scheduled Transition According to Plan
Yves Decadt assumes the role of CEO on June 10, 2026. Nicolas Trouche, who has held this position since the start of the restructuring phase in August 2025, is stepping down from his operational responsibilities. The board of directors expressed their gratitude towards Nicolas Trouche for his commitment during this critical period. This transition was planned for the first half of 2026 and is occurring on the initially established schedule.
25-Year Career in the Pharmaceutical Industry
Yves Decadt has over 25 years of experience in the international pharmaceutical industry. He spent nearly 20 years at Johnson & Johnson in the international business development department, handling license negotiations and contracts, with a particular expertise in the Asia region. Since August 2025, he has been working alongside the Poxel teams as a consultant, notably leading the strategic review of the asset portfolio that underpinned the continuation plan. He also oversaw the sale of PXL770 to Scynexis, a transaction that monetized this asset and freed up resources for priority developments. Yves Decadt pursued studies in bio-engineering and industrial management at Ghent University (Vlerick School), in pharmacology and pharmaceutical medicine at the Free University of Brussels, and holds a board of directors certification from Duke University. He remains a board member at Poxel.
Accelerating Partnerships and Clinical Development
Yves Decadt's short and medium-term priorities focus on accelerating partnership discussions for the commercialization of Imeglimin outside Japan, with a particular emphasis on China and Asian markets. He is also tasked with supporting the development of PXL065 for the treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and steatohepatitis associated with metabolic dysfunction.
