Sanofi Shares Bounce Back Over 2.5%, Leading the CAC 40
The pharmaceutical company marks a strong rebound in mid-morning trading, following a significant drop the previous day. The stock is among the leaders in the CAC 40, in a Parisian market trending upwards.
A Technical Rebound Moving Away from the €72.72 Support
Sanofi shares gain 2.56% to €75.22, among the highest rises in the CAC 40 as the index itself advances by 0.32%. The stock moves away from the support level at €72.72, which it had approached during Thursday's 2% decline. However, the rebound does not negate the medium-term bearish configuration: the price remains below its 20-day moving average (€75.87) and even more so from its 200-day moving average (€80.85, nearly a 7% gap).
The RSI climbs to 39, exiting the seller tension zone without yet indicating a clear reversal. The technical resistance to watch remains set at €77.95, in an environment of contained volatility (7.15% over a month).
A Sector Context Still Marked by the Discontinuation of the MOBILIZE Study
Today's rebound is not based on any press release issued this Friday by the company. The stock remains penalized over three months (-1.18%) and over a year (-9.17%), following a series of unfavorable events, including the discontinuation of the phase 3 MOBILIZE study on riliprubart announced on June 10. Conversely, several recent regulatory milestones support the pipeline: the FDA approved Tzield for children aged 8 to 17 with type 1 diabetes, and the subcutaneous formulation of Sarclisa received European approval in early June.
Based on the consensus of analysts surveyed, the stock is trading at around 9 times the expected earnings for the current fiscal year, with a projected EPS growth of 6% from one year to the next. The next step for the stock remains the reconquest of its 20-day moving average, at €75.87.
