Sartorius Stedim Biotech Shares Bounce Back 2.5% and Challenge Their 20-Day Moving Average
The French bioproduction equipment specialist regains momentum in the mid-afternoon, within a well-oriented SBF 120. The stock recovers from last week's slump and approaches a technically monitored zone that has been under observation for several sessions.
A Rebound Bringing the Stock Close to its 20-Day Moving Average
Sartorius Stedim Biotech shares gain 2.54% to €173.50 during the session, up from €169.20 the previous day. The stock is among the top gainers in the SBF 120, as the index itself rises by 0.68% and the CAC 40 advances by 0.72%. This rebound brings the price close to the immediate vicinity of the MM20, at €174.32 (a gap of -0.47%), after briefly losing it following a 4.5% decline on June 18 that had caused the stock to drop below the MM50. The latter, at €170.11, is now back below the current price (a gap of +1.99%).
The MM200, however, remains a distant ceiling at €185.16, which is 6.30% above the current price. The RSI at 46 indicates a neutral configuration, with no signs of exhaustion on either side. The MACD, still negative (-0.99 against a signal line at 0.79), maintains a short-term bearish orientation that today's session helps mitigate but does not reverse.
A Calmed Market Environment Benefiting Cyclical Stocks
The European session is marked by a relaxed atmosphere. The VIX drops by 8.47% to 17.84 points, while Brent crude falls to $72.5 per barrel, the lowest since late February, following the resumption of flows through the Strait of Hormuz. The Ifo Business Climate Index in Germany has also improved to 85.6 in June, up from 85.0 in May, signaling a gradual strengthening in the Eurozone.
This backdrop benefits several stocks in the SBF 120, where Soitec (+5.82%), Trigano (+4.79%), and STMicroelectronics (+4.32%) are among the top performers. Over time, Sartorius Stedim's stock remains behind: -12.95% over one year and -1.81% over the week, despite a 4.61% increase over three months. The resistance threshold identified at €183.70, already targeted during the sessions of June 4 and June 16, remains the high technical reference, while the support at €155.90 marks the lower end of the range.
