Shell Appoints PwC as External Auditor Starting 2027
Shell plc announced on February 6, 2026, that it has appointed PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as its future external auditor following a competitive tender process. This appointment is part of a planned transition of the energy company's external audit firm.
At the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2025, Shell Group initiated a competitive process for selecting an external auditor, led by the Audit and Risk Committee. The board of directors approved the proposed appointment of PwC, to take effect for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2027. This appointment is subject to shareholder approval at the 2027 annual general meeting.
