Sodexo has presented a transformation project for its French operations that could result in 963 job cuts. A separate project concerning the group's headquarters could lead to an additional 134 job cuts.
A project part of Sodexo's transformation in France
According to Reuters, Sodexo indicated on August 26 that the reorganization of its French operations could result in 963 job cuts at Sodexo France, representing 4% of the workforce.
The planned measure would take the form of an employment protection plan, with an initial phase of voluntary departures. A second project concerning the headquarters in Issy-les-Moulineaux could lead to the elimination of 134 positions.
The group attributes this transformation to intensifying competition and changing consumer expectations. Sodexo has approximately 25,000 employees and 4,000 sites in France. A procedure for informing and consulting employee representatives has been initiated.
A previous social plan had been announced in 2020

This project comes after a previous employment protection plan announced in 2020, during the health crisis related to Covid-19. Presented on October 27, 2020, it provided for 2,083 net job cuts in France, primarily in Business Services.
Eric Villecroze, FO central union delegate at Sodexo, told AFP of the union's surprise and distress at the new project. Presented on July 16, 2026, the strategic plan "Shift & Grow 2030" notably provides for strengthening commercial capabilities, simplifying the operational model and increasing investments in technology, data and digital. Sodexo is due to publish its annual results for fiscal year 2026 on October 23, 2026.
