Soitec Shares Bounce Nearly 3% Following Chinese ZenSemi Partnership
The Isère-based specialist in semiconductor substrates continues its rebound in early afternoon trading, following an industrial partnership established in China. The session remains tumultuous, with a significant dip below a closely watched technical threshold before recovering above it. The stock is experiencing a phase of high volatility, between a spectacular quarterly rally and a severe monthly correction.
A 2.71% Rebound Supported by an Industrial Partnership in China
Soitec gains 2.71% to €117.40 during the session, with the SBF 120 up by 0.64%. The stock continues the movement started yesterday, after announcing an industrial partnership with ZenSemi focused on the development and volume production of 300 mm BCD-on-SOI substrates for power electronics. This collaboration extends the group's strategy of anchoring itself in the Chinese market, cited as a growth axis in the annual results published on May 27, 2026. The session remains, however, volatile. In the course of the morning, the stock broke its support at €116.50, dropping to a low of €113.25, before climbing back above. This movement illustrates the volatility that has characterized the stock over several sessions, following a spring marked by a surge and then a severe correction. Over three months, the performance remains at +118%, but the stock has lost nearly 34% over the month and 9.3% over the week.
Stock Remains 17.9% Below Its MM20 Despite Today's Rebound
Today's rebound mitigates the monthly decline without erasing its magnitude. The price continues to trade below the MM20 at €142.93 (a gap of -17.86%) and the MM50 at €136.89 (-14.24%), both moving averages remaining significantly above the price and reflecting the degradation of the short-term trend. The MM200 at €61.74, however, remains well below the price (+90.15%), reflecting the annual rally at +146%. The RSI at 44 remains neutral, with no signs of exhaustion. The support at €116.50, tested and then briefly breached during the session, becomes the technical pivot of the moment. During the annual results (published on May 27, 2026), Soitec cited among its opportunities the increasing adoption of Photonics-SOI solutions for data centers and the strengthening of its position in the Chinese market, an axis that the agreement with ZenSemi supports. However, the company also pointed out the pressure on profitability linked to production cuts and stock corrections among its clients, two parameters that weigh on the trajectory of the current fiscal year.
