Sopra Steria Share Price Declines and Falls 12% Over One Month
Sopra Steria Group is losing ground this Wednesday, in an SBF 120 index that is advancing slightly. The decline extends a difficult monthly trend for the digital services group, as the Federal Reserve's decision on its key interest rates is expected later today, in a context of macroeconomic tension.
A Decline That Intensifies the Bearish Pressure of Recent Weeks on the Stock
Sopra Steria Group is down 1.87% to €162.50 in trading, while the SBF 120 advances 0.16%. The stock is thus among the biggest losers in the index, ranking 114th out of 120. Over one month, the decline reaches 12.11%, a significant correction that contrasts with a gain of 11.15% over three months. The price is below the 20-day moving average at €172.99 (gap of 6.06%) and below the 50-day moving average at €170.38 (gap of 4.62%), two moving averages that act as nearby resistance levels.
Only the 200-day moving average, at €145.62, remains clearly below the current price, offering a longer-term technical floor. The RSI at 44 is neutral, without any marked oversold signal at this stage. The support level at €156.10 is the next level to monitor should selling pressure intensify.
Partnership with Dynatrace and Fundamentals: Supporting Points to Put Into Perspective
On the operational side, the partnership with Dynatrace, announced on September 14, provides for the establishment of a joint center of expertise in observability and artificial intelligence, with initial deployments in France and Norway. This agreement is part of the group's strategy to move upmarket in complex information systems for large European organizations. When publishing first-half 2026 results on July 29, management had raised the annual organic growth target to +2.0% / +2.5%, driven in particular by aerospace (+12%) and defense-security-space (+10%).
On the short positions front, four funds have accumulated 3.51% of declared capital in short positions, up 0.65 percentage points over thirty days, according to the declarations consulted. This level, above 3%, reflects notable institutional caution toward the stock, although this type of positioning may also reflect hedging strategies rather than pure bearish conviction. According to the consensus of analysts surveyed, the stock is trading around 9 times the expected earnings for the current fiscal year, with earnings per share growth anticipated at +10.4% from one year to the next.
