Sword Group Joins Atos-led Consortium for European Cybersecurity Contract
Sword Group has been selected as a member of the consortium led by Atos under the FREIA Lot 1 framework contract, awarded by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Digital Services. The contract, totaling approximately 300 million euros, aims to enhance the cybersecurity capabilities of European institutions.
Contract Contribution and Scope
According to the press release, Sword Group plans to contribute between 10 to 15 percent of the total amount of the FREIA Lot 1 framework contract, which amounts to a participation of between 30 and 45 million euros. This contract was initiated under the CLOUD II dynamic purchasing system and involves technical operations services for the DG DIGIT. The system allows European institutions and agencies to access trusted partners for critical digital and cybersecurity operations over a multi-year period, the company indicates.
Services and Expertise Provided
As per the group, the FREIA framework contract aims to provide professional services covering technical operations, policy support, and advisory services in cybersecurity, cloud, and information systems. Within the consortium led by Atos, Sword will bring its expertise in cybersecurity operations, secure cloud services, and critical IT support. The FREIA Lot 1 framework specifically focuses on technical operational services, including cybersecurity operations, incident response, and protection of complex IT and cloud environments.

According to Dieter Rogiers, General Manager of Sword BeNeLux, this selection reflects the European Commission's confidence in the group's cybersecurity expertise. The company states that this achievement consolidates its position as a partner of European institutions, building on its experience in executing complex projects in IT, cybersecurity, and digital transformation across Europe. The group employs 3,500 specialists active in over 50 countries. Sword will publish its Q4 2025 revenue on January 22, 2026, and its annual 2025 revenue on March 11, 2026.
