Umicore Targets Adjusted EBITDA Close to 1 Billion Euros in 2026
The Belgian advanced materials and recycling group anticipates an adjusted EBITDA of nearly 1 billion euros for 2026, basing this forecast on a strong first quarter performance and favorable visibility in end markets.
Strong First Quarter Performance
Umicore recorded a solid performance in the first quarter of 2026. The group's focus on operational efficiency and priority on value creation has allowed it to capitalize on the currently favorable metal prices environment. Based on the momentum observed in the first quarter and the current visibility on end markets, Umicore expects the group's adjusted EBITDA for the fiscal year 2026 to approach 1 billion euros. This guidance assumes that metal prices remain generally stable relative to levels seen in the first quarter of 2026 and that no major macroeconomic deterioration occurs. The group estimates that the direct consequences of the conflict in the Middle East will not be significant in 2026, as its exposure in terms of supply and sales in this region is very limited.
Growth Investments and Financial Leverage Discipline
The group's investments are expected to increase slightly compared to 2025, driven by selective and high-quality growth investments in key activities. Umicore will maintain strict discipline in capital allocation. The group plans to make its final investment decision regarding the extension of its proprietary hydrometallurgical scheme in the Precious Metals Refining division in the second half of 2026. In line with its CORE strategy and financial leverage ambition, Umicore remains committed to keeping its net debt / adjusted EBITDA ratio over the last 12 months below 2.0x. Additionally, the group has solid energy hedges in place prior to the Middle East conflict, with electricity coverage over 75% for 2026 to 2028 and natural gas coverage over 85% for 2026 and 2027.
Dividend Payment Schedule and Semi-Annual Results
Umicore has released a financial calendar for 2026, setting the dividend ex-date on May 5, 2026, the record date on May 6, and the payment date on May 7. The semi-annual results for 2026 will be announced on July 31, 2026.
