VINCI Group has been selected by the Jamaican National Water Commission for a major hydraulic project under the Western Water Resilience Programme. Valued at €144 million, the contract involves the design and construction of new infrastructure aimed at sustainably securing the drinking water supply in the northwest of the island.
VINCI Construction Grands Projets will carry out a design-build project for the National Water Commission (NWC), which includes 68 kilometers of large-diameter cast iron drinking water pipelines, as part of phase 1 of the Western Water Resilience Programme in Jamaica. The contract, worth €144 million, aims to renovate and expand water networks in a region experiencing significant demographic, tourist, and industrial growth. The works, lasting 36 months, will cover nearly 130 kilometers along an existing road corridor, including sensitive areas and crossing structures. The site will employ over 100 local individuals. The selected materials are aimed at achieving a target lifespan of over 50 years and a sustainable reduction in network losses.
