Wallix and Inria Join Forces for Trusted AI in Cybersecurity
Wallix and the French National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (Inria) announced on Thursday a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the development of trusted artificial intelligence applied to identity and access cybersecurity. The agreement, signed during VivaTech 2026, marks the first collaboration between Inria and a player in the French cybersecurity sector.
A Collaboration Between Public Research and Industry Against Cyber Threats
This strategic partnership is based on a shared desire to strengthen French digital sovereignty in a context marked by the intensification of cyber threats and the increasing sophistication of attacks. It addresses the challenges related to the proliferation of digital identities and the growing demands for compliance and resilience of organizations.
The agreement was initiated through the Étincelles program led by the Directorate General for Enterprise (DGE), which aims to connect innovative SMEs with research entities. It illustrates the strength of collective dynamics between academic research, technological entrepreneurship, and industrial partnerships to build competitive French solutions.
Decision Support Systems Based on Trusted AI
The partnership will be structured around research projects, technological challenges, demonstrators, and joint innovation initiatives. The teams from Inria and Wallix will work on the development of decision support systems incorporating principles of trusted AI, in order to enhance the efficiency of cybersecurity teams while reducing operational burden.
This collaboration meets a strategic need: to combine technological performance, transparency, and independence from non-European technologies, especially in a context where the dominant AI solutions are under the control of foreign powers.

The journey of Malizen, a startup born from research conducted at the Inria Center at the University of Rennes and now integrated into Wallix, illustrates the viability of collective dynamics between public research and industry. This example demonstrates the capacity of the model to produce leaders in French digital technology capable of meeting market challenges.
