Wendel Shares Gain 2.5% Confirming Technical Recovery

A Rebound in Line with the General Rise of the SBF 120

Wendel gains 2.8% to €86.40 during the session, while the SBF 120 is up by 1.01% and the CAC 40 increases by 1.02%. This movement occurs in a market climate boosted by the framework agreement announced between the United States and Iran, which includes the gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and has led to a roughly 4% drop in Brent crude prices. The decrease in oil prices triggered a rally in cyclical stocks, with Imerys, Forvia, and Stellantis among the top gainers in the SBF 120.

Wendel follows the trend but is not among the top contributors, its profile as a diversified holding distancing it from sectors most sensitive to oil. The drop in the VIX, which falls to 16.20 from 17.68 last Friday, also reflects a calming of overall market nervousness, conducive to stocks sensitive to equity flows.

The Stock Strengthens Its Recovery Above the Three Moving Averages

At €86.40, the price is above the MM20 (€85.92), MM50 (€85.44), and MM200 (€82.26), with a 5% gap from the latter. This configuration extends the technical recovery observed at the end of May, already documented by our brief on the crossing of the three moving averages. The RSI at 46 remains neutral, which leaves room before any exhaustion signal, while the slightly negative MACD (-0.88) still reflects the digestion of the consolidation over the last few weeks.

The next resistance is at €90.25, with the reference support remaining at €82.75. On the corporate front, Wendel announced on June 10 the appointment of Nabil Bennis as the director of valuation and performance monitoring, signaling the structuring of the Wendel Investment Managers branch. Over one year, the stock now shows a performance of +2.8%, with the next graphical threshold being the €90.25 zone.
