Worldline Introduces Click to Pay for Recurring Payments on Global Collect
The European payment services leader announced on Wednesday the introduction of the Click to Pay feature for recurring payments on its Global Collect platform, enabling merchants to improve conversion and reduce involuntary subscription abandonment.
One-Click Payments Extended to Subscriptions
Worldline becomes the first payment provider in Europe to offer Click to Pay for recurring payments. This feature, based on the EMVCo Secure Remote Commerce standards and supported by major card schemes, allows consumers to register once and instantly validate their purchase without a password or lengthy form. The service will be available on Global Collect, Worldline’s cross-border payment platform, starting July 30, 2026. It particularly targets digital businesses such as SaaS, streaming, online gaming, and digital memberships, where acquisition and retention are directly linked to growth.
Reduction of Involuntary Abandonment and Improved Conversion
Click to Pay securely stores tokenized payment data at the first purchase. These tokens are then used for recurring payments, with automatic updates during card renewal or replacement, without interrupting the billing cycle. According to Worldline, adopting Click to Pay can increase payment conversion by up to 6%, while involuntary abandonment due to expired or reissued cards can account for up to 40% of total unsubscription. For merchants, the impact is across the entire payment cycle with enhanced conversion, reduced involuntary abandonment, and increased security.
