Abivax stock drops 30% over the quarter and turns red again
The Parisian biotech company specializing in inflammatory diseases is turning red mid-morning, in an SBF 120 itself in sharp decline. This pullback erases part of Tuesday's rebound and comes as bearish bets on the stock have declined significantly over one month.
A security below its moving averages, far from its support at 76.95 €
Abivax is trading at 82.30 €, down 2.43% compared to the previous day, in an SBF 120 losing 1.49%. The stock remains 9.55% below its MA50 (90.99 €) and 17.49% below its MA200 (99.74 €), although it is holding slightly above its MA20 (81.26 €, difference of 1.28%). The support level at 76.95 € is located approximately 6.5% below the current price.
Over one month, the stock is down 9.21% and over three months 29.96%, a decline that contrasts with the gain of 3.85% over the week. The MACD remains below its signal line, with a positive histogram of 0.96, indicating that selling pressure has eased without reversing. Among the index values, Abivax ranks near the bottom of the table, well behind ID Logistics Group, which is up nearly 9%.
Short positions in decline at 5.53% of capital after a peak at 7.12%
According to filed declarations, five funds hold a net short position of 5.53% of the capital, compared to 7.12% thirty days ago, a decline of 1.59 percentage points. This level remains elevated, but the decrease over one month indicates that some investors have reduced their bearish bets. This movement does not rule out new tensions on the stock, which remains more than 30% below its level over the quarter.
Abivax is listed in Paris and in the form of ADSs on the Nasdaq, with both lines arbitraged at the same price. Only the Paris-listed share is eligible for the PEA. The latest short position declaration dates from October 19.
