Acomo: revenue down 1% in third quarter, held back by organic juices in the United States
Acomo published on October 22, 2026 revenue of €352.5 million for the third quarter of 2026, compared to €357.3 million a year earlier, a decline of 1% (2% at constant exchange rates). The Dutch plant-based food ingredients group, listed on Euronext Amsterdam, indicated that this performance was in line with its expectations.
The decline remains concentrated in a single division, Organic Ingredients, whose sales fell 13% due to production difficulties at a third-party provider in the juice business in the United States. The four other divisions showed increased sales, driven by organic growth and contributions from recent acquisitions.
For the first nine months of 2026, revenue stood at €1,063.2 million, compared to €1,115.8 million for the same period in 2025, down 5% (3% at constant exchange rates). The quarterly decline of 1% is therefore less marked than the year-to-date decline, with the group noting that headwinds related to currencies have eased.
Spices, tea and food solutions up in third quarter
The Spices and Nuts division, the largest contributor in the quarter, saw its sales increase 5% to €133.2 million, compared to €126.3 million. According to the press release, this increase combines modest organic growth and the contribution of Italian company Manuzzi, acquired in November 2025. Over nine months, the division posted €409.4 million, up 4%.
The Tea division also recorded a 5% increase, to €30.5 million compared to €28.9 million, in an environment marked by geopolitical uncertainty. The business continues its transition to a new centralized business model. Over nine months, its sales grew 4% (7% at constant exchange rates).
The smallest division in the group, Food Solutions, saw its sales rise from €6.3 million to €10.8 million (+70%), thanks to organic growth and the integration of Cublend. The Edible Seeds division advanced 2% to €50.3 million, a stable change at constant exchange rates, with the restart of SunButter production in the United States.
Organic Ingredients down 13%, own facility planned for early 2027
The Organic Ingredients division, whose weight is similar to that of spices and nuts, achieved €129.5 million in sales in the third quarter, compared to €148.1 million a year earlier, a decline of 13% (14% at constant exchange rates). The press release attributes this decline to the juice business of Tradin Organic in the United States, where production disruptions at a third-party provider led to lost sales. The cocoa business, by contrast, continued to perform well in an environment where prices remain volatile.
To address these difficulties, Acomo has undertaken the internalization of juice production and plans to bring the new facility into service during the first quarter of 2027. For the first nine months, the division's sales totaled €383.2 million, compared to €451.1 million, down 15% (12% at constant exchange rates).
The Edible Seeds division remains behind on the year-to-date basis, at €164.8 million compared to €173.4 million (-5%, or -2% at constant exchange rates). Chief Executive Officer Allard Goldschmeding recalled that the division had suffered operational disruptions and a production interruption that began last year and continued partly in the first quarter, and indicated that it was gradually returning to more normal performance levels.
Acomo maintains its medium-term ambitions
Despite a macroeconomic environment that the group describes as turbulent, Acomo indicated it remains confident in its medium-term ambitions, presented at its 2025 investor day. The chief executive cited geopolitical developments and the impact of the El Niño phenomenon among short-term uncertainties, while highlighting portfolio diversification and the contribution of targeted acquisitions.
The group will publish its 2026 annual results on March 3, 2027, the date of release of its annual report. The annual general meeting and the first quarter 2027 business update are scheduled for April 16, 2027.
In the third quarter of 2026, Acomo's revenue stood at €352.5 million, down 1%, with four of five divisions in growth against a 13% decline in the Organic Ingredients division.
