Air Liquide shares among the best performers of the CAC 40 this Friday
The stock is also evolving in the context of an agreement signed in Japan in semiconductors, and is approaching a key technical zone.
A rebound of nearly 2% that brings the stock back into contact with its 50-day moving average
Air Liquide gained 1.98% during the session at €169.74, a recovery that occurs in a Paris market oriented upward, with the CAC 40 advancing 1.1%. The stock is now trading just above its 20-day MA at €167.76 (spread of +1.18%) and in near-exact contact with its 50-day MA at €169.51, with a residual spread of +0.14%. This technical configuration deserves attention: sustained anchoring above the 50-day MA would open the path towards resistance at €173.18, while a reversal below this threshold would bring the stock back towards the 20-day MA. The RSI at 45 remains in neutral territory, with no overbought or oversold signals, which leaves the configuration open in both directions.
Over one month, the value is still down -1.99%. The 10-year OAT reached 4.90% on October 1, 2026 (Banque de France survey), at its highest level since 2002.
The Japan agreement in semiconductors is part of a record investment strategy
On September 30, Air Liquide announced an investment of over 170 million euros in Japan, through a long-term agreement with a chip manufacturer for the supply of ultra-pure gases for the production of logic chips. This operation strengthens the group's anchoring in Asian electronics. It is part of the momentum described during the publication of the first half of 2026 (July 28, 2026): the order book then reached a record level of 6 billion euros, and the group had recorded nearly 3 billion euros in investment decisions in the first half, of which 1 billion was dedicated to the Electronics segment to support demand related to artificial intelligence. Management had expressed confidence in its ability to increase operating margin by 100 basis points and to show growth in recurring net income at constant exchange rates over the whole of 2026.
On the analysts' opinion, CIC Market Solutions maintains its buy opinion with a target of €200 (issued October 1, 2026), while BofA Securities slightly lowered its target from €200 to €195, while maintaining a positive opinion, on September 30. These two targets offer upside potential of around 15% compared to the current price. The support threshold at €163.16 remains approximately 4% below today's price.
