Airbus: Aviation Capital Group Orders 75 A320neo Aircraft, Its Largest Order in 40 Years
The American aircraft lessor and asset manager thus brings the total historical volume of its orders for this aircraft type to 190 units. According to its chief executive officer, Thomas Baker, this represents the largest order placed by the company in nearly 40 years of operations.
A Firm Order for 75 Narrow-Body Aircraft from the A320neo Family
Aviation Capital Group LLC (ACG), an aircraft asset manager headquartered in Newport Beach, California, has signed a firm order for 75 aircraft from the A320neo family. The announcement was made in Toulouse on October 16, 2026.
The A320neo family comprises two models, the A320neo and the A321neo. ACG thus brings the total historical volume of its orders for this aircraft type to 190 aircraft.
A Commercial Relationship with Airbus Established Since 2007
For Thomas Baker, chief executive officer and president of ACG, the company's portfolio strategy is "centered on next-generation narrow-body aircraft, the most sought-after by airlines worldwide." He presents this order as "a sign of confidence in the long-term future of air transport" and in ACG's role as an intermediary "between airlines, aircraft, and capital."
Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, executive vice president in charge of sales for Airbus's Commercial Aircraft division, recalled that the partnership between the two groups dates back to 2007, the year of ACG's first direct order from the aircraft manufacturer. According to him, this order will enable ACG to offer the A320neo family to its customers "well into the next decade."
More Than 20,400 Orders Recorded for the A320 Family
The A320 family has received more than 20,400 orders worldwide, according to Airbus. The aircraft manufacturer indicates that its next-generation aircraft offer a reduction of at least 20% in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions compared to narrow-body aircraft of the previous generation.
