Airbus Helicopters Secures Firm Order for 8 H145s from THC
The Helicopter Company, a Saudi commercial operator owned by the Public Investment Fund, placed a firm order for eight Airbus H145 helicopters at the Farnborough Airshow on July 20, 2026. This new order is part of a framework agreement signed in 2024, which includes up to 120 aircraft of various types over three to five years.
Eight Aircraft to be Delivered Between 2027 and 2028
Airbus Helicopters and The Helicopter Company (THC) announced a firm order for an additional eight H145 helicopters. The aircraft will be delivered between 2027 and 2028, under the historic framework agreement signed between the two partners in Verticon in 2024. This framework agreement originally encompassed the delivery of up to 120 Airbus helicopters of various types over three to five years.
THC justified this new order with its disciplined approach to fleet optimization and growth strategy. The company emphasized that the staggered delivery over two consecutive years will allow for a gradual integration of the new aircraft into its operations.
H145s Designated for Medical Assistance and Critical Operations
The eight ordered H145s will enhance the range of services offered by THC in Saudi Arabia and beyond. These aircraft are specifically allocated for emergency medical services (EMS) and critical operations. THC already operates H145s in these areas, having notably deployed the aircraft in support of the Dakar Rally. According to the Saudi group, this order reinforces its position as a regional and local leader while strengthening its presence in international markets.
A Partnership Strengthened Over Six Years
Arnaud Martinez, CEO of THC, highlighted that this additional order reflects the 'dynamic partnership' developed with Airbus over the past six years. Matthieu Louvot, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, noted that the agreement reflects THC's confidence in the multi-mission capabilities of the H145 platform and supports the rapid expansion of the Saudi aerospace ecosystem, in line with the objectives of Vision 2030.
