Alstom stock declines 1.8% and falls back to its 50-day moving average at €15.79
The rail manufacturer based in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine is declining mid-session, in a Paris market oriented downwards. The stock finds itself in the lower part of its index ranking, even as a new Vietnamese order was announced the previous day.
A decline that brings the stock back to its 50-day moving average
The Alstom stock loses 1.81% to €15.72, while the SBF 120 falls 0.72% and the CAC 40 0.69%. The stock declines by 1.81%, positioning itself in the lower half of the SBF 120. This pullback brings it to the level of its MA50, at €15.79, with the price evolving slightly below this level.
It remains, however, above its MA20 (€15.48) and well below its MA200 (€19.62). Over the week, the decline stands at 1.19%, and the one-year performance remains at -27.99%. The gap between the MA20 and MA50 sums up the session: the stock hesitates around its short-term benchmarks, without having clearly broken through them.

On October 19, Alstom announced a first order of €800 million for metro systems in Hanoi, a quantified translation of the agreement reached with Vingroup. It will be included in order intake for the third quarter of fiscal year 2026-27, as well as the Greater Anglia maintenance contract, worth approximately €947 million, announced on October 16. When publishing its results on July 22, 2026, the group had confirmed its target of approximately 5% organic revenue growth and adjusted operating margin of approximately 6.5% for fiscal year 2026/27.
Net short positions declared reach 5.13% of capital, distributed among six funds, up 0.61 points over thirty days. This level is elevated, but the recent increase remains modest and reveals nothing about the funds' motivations, which may also be hedging exposure. The support at €14.54 is the next technical level identified in the data, below the current price.
