Apex Critical Metals drilled 197.5 m at 2.12% rare earth oxides, according to the company
Mining exploration company Apex Critical Metals released, via a market notice submitted to European market abuse regulations, the results of analyses from five boreholes conducted on its Rift rare earth project, located in the Elk Creek carbonatite complex, in southeastern Nebraska, United States.
Extension of Trinity zone to the west and south
According to the press release, borehole RIFT26-019 intersected an interval of 197.5 m grading 2.12% rare earth oxides (REO), notably including 3.15% REO over 12.9 m and 4.60% REO over 5.1 m. This borehole extends the Trinity zone mineralization by approximately an additional 120 m to the west, down-dip.
Three boreholes forming the southernmost line (RIFT26-016, RIFT26-017 and RIFT26-018) extend the mineralization by 100 m in a north-south direction, with intervals of 1.74% REO over 46.1 m, 1.38% REO over 77.3 m and 2.00% REO over 33.7 m respectively.
The Trinity zone is now defined over approximately 500 m in a north-south direction and 300 m down-dip to the west, within a 700 m target corridor. The company indicates that the zone remains open in all directions.
Ongoing drilling program and resource estimate targeted for first quarter 2027
According to the press release, nineteen of the thirty-four boreholes completed to date have published assay results. The 2026 drilling program continues, with a total of approximately 22,000 m drilled and assays pending for fifteen boreholes.
Work is expected to continue in September and October with a single drilling rig. The company specifies that it continues to refine its 3D geological model as results are received.
Sean Charland, Chief Executive Officer of Apex Critical Metals, stated that the company remained on track for an initial mineral resource estimate in the first quarter of 2027. The press release recalls that the company's properties are at an early stage of development and that no current mineral resource or reserve has been identified on them.
