Archos launches Nidis, an IoT program funded by a 400,000 € Bpifrance loan
The Île-de-France-based group is positioning its Distrame subsidiary in securing sensitive sites with an innovation program dedicated to field Internet of Things. The project benefits from a 400,000 euro Innovation Loan granted by Bpifrance.
A unique hub to consolidate sensors
Archos announced on September 8, 2026 the launch of NIDIS, an innovation program in the field of field Internet of Things (IoT), carried out by its subsidiary Distrame. The project aims to secure sensitive locations such as defense infrastructures, industrial sites, heritage sites and natural areas.
According to the group, the system is designed to continuously capture external elements, transmit data and trigger alerts, including in isolated or difficult-to-access areas. The targeted applications cover water resource management, security of assets and people, industrial monitoring, environmental monitoring, connected agriculture and infrastructure management.
A modular platform developed in France
NIDIS is based on a unique modular hardware platform in the form of a hub, described as a sealed enclosure equipped with long-range LoRa technology and energy-autonomous. According to Archos, this platform consolidates power supply, communication, protection and fixing functions to enable interchangeable sensors to coexist, replacing the installation of separate individual devices.
The group indicates that the solution is based on a separation between the common platform, mass-produced, and interchangeable sensors, via a standardized interface designed to support most of the industry's communication protocols. Developed in France by Distrame, NIDIS leaves customers with the choice of their own supervision and data processing tools.
