Argan enhances its AutOnom solution: heating in winter, cooling in summer
The logistics real estate company detailed an evolution of its AutOnom solution, which now combines winter heating and summer cooling via the same equipment, in a press release distributed on September 22, 2026.
It frames this direction within its energy efficiency policy and building comfort strategy.
Argan has been developing its AutOnom solution since 2022, presented as a generation of logistics platforms combining photovoltaic production, electricity storage and electric heat pumps.
According to the company, these systems enable operators to meet their heating and lighting needs with renewable energy produced on-site. The same heat pump that provides heating in winter also allows for cooling of work spaces in summer.
AutOnom replaces gas-fired boilers with reversible air-water electric heat pumps, which capture calories from outside air to heat water in winter and reverse their cycle in summer to cool the warehouse via air heaters.

This summer, three Argan sites benefited from these installations, including the one in Bain-de-Bretagne (35), operated by the BSL groupe Dimotrans teams.
Céline Chatelain, QHSE and CSR Director of Dimotrans Group, indicates that the temperature in the warehouse cells did not exceed 26 to 27 °C while the thermometer showed 40 °C outside.
