ASM International Proposes Rutger Wijburg to its Supervisory Board
The Dutch semiconductor equipment group announced its intention to submit the appointment of Rutger Wijburg to a shareholder vote. The vote will take place at an extraordinary general meeting expected in early March 2027.
An Appointment Subject to Shareholder Vote in March 2027
ASM International N.V. (Euronext Amsterdam: ASM) announced on September 7, 2026 its intention to appoint Rutger Wijburg to its supervisory board. His appointment will be subject to shareholder approval at an extraordinary general meeting scheduled for early March 2027.
According to Pauline van der Meer Mohr, chairwoman of ASM's supervisory board, this proposal is part of the broader framework of the group's succession planning work.
More than Thirty Years of Experience in Semiconductors
Rutger Wijburg has more than thirty years of international experience in the semiconductor industry. He joined Infineon Technologies AG in 2018, where he held various management positions until 2025, most recently as Chief Operating Officer and member of the Executive Board from 2022 to 2025.
Previously, he held several management positions at Globalfoundries, NXP and Philips Semiconductors. He currently sits on the supervisory boards of the Zeiss group and Smart Photonics. In the coming months, the supervisory board will familiarize Rutger Wijburg with ASM and its operations ahead of the shareholder vote.
