Atos Group Shares Drop 4% and Briefly Break Below €33 Support
Atos Group shares face significant selling pressure in the late afternoon, in a Parisian market poorly oriented amid renewed tensions in the Middle East. The stock dips below a long-watched technical threshold, erasing recent gains linked to commercial announcements.
A Brief Dip Below the €33 Support Before a Modest Rebound
Atos shares lose 4.01% to €33.02 in the late afternoon, with the SBF 120 index down 1.83%. During the session, the stock broke its €33 support, dropping to a low of €32.70 before climbing back above the threshold. Today's decline brings the value well below its key moving averages: the price is 3.98% off the MM20 (€34.39) and 9.86% from the MM50 (€36.63), while the MM200 at €43.91 remains nearly 25% distant.
The RSI at 46 remains neutral, showing no signs of excess. The drop occurs in a context of high volatility, with the VIX jumping 11% following the announcement of US strikes on Iran and a claimed Iranian retaliation in Kuwait and Bahrain. Over a month, the stock has erased nearly 12%; however, it is still up 10% over the year.
Oddo BHF Lowers Target to €43 as Atos Continues Deleveraging
The session follows a move by analysts: Oddo BHF has lowered its price target from €46 to €43, while adopting a neutral stance. The adjusted target still offers a theoretical potential of about 30% compared to today's price, as found in the analysts' consensus. In terms of valuation, the stock trades at approximately 8.5 times the earnings expected for the current fiscal year and 4.6 times those of the following year, according to the consensus of surveyed analysts.
On the fundamentals side, the group has made progress in its financial restructuring: Atos completed the full refinancing of its 1L debt tranche on July 7 and proceeded with the early repayment of the remaining bonds. On the same day, it unveiled Atos MogwAI, its generative and agentive AI platform for businesses. The behavior of the stock price around the €33 support, briefly breached then recovered, will be the level to watch in the coming sessions.
