Atos: Its Sovereign AI Solution with Flender Awarded in China by IDC
Atos is highlighting an agentic artificial intelligence solution developed with manufacturer Flender in China, now distinguished by a sector award. This announcement illustrates the group's positioning on sovereign AI applied to industrial processes.
An Agentic AI Solution Dedicated to Industrial R&D
Atos announced on September 4, 2026 that its sovereign agentic AI solution, developed jointly with manufacturer Flender in China, had received the "Best Agentic AI Practice" award at the IDC China AI Innovation Awards 2026, presented by International Data Corporation.
This solution, named "Sovereign AI Agent for Engineering R&D", combines agentic AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), multimodal capabilities and expertise in the manufacturing sector. It aims to accelerate the transition from concept to market launch for engineering teams.
According to Atos, the solution reduced by 83% the time spent interpreting design standard documents and engineering plans, bringing it down from approximately 30 minutes to 5 minutes, with an estimated annual saving of around 2,000 engineering hours.
Deployment Integrated into the Sovereign Agentic Studio Offering
The solution is part of Atos Sovereign Agentic Studio (SAS), through which Atos China supports organizations in deploying trustworthy AI solutions.
Guo Yan Ming, Chief Information Officer of Flender China, stated that "applying sovereign, secure AI compliant with complex engineering workflows accelerates knowledge reuse and decision-making". Yun Rui Feng, Chief Executive Officer of Atos China, declared that Atos "remains committed to helping organizations accelerate innovation and achieve measurable results at scale".
Atos also reports a sixfold increase in the capacity to process engineering designs, as well as improved knowledge reuse and collaboration between teams.
