Coface share breaks through its 15.82 € support level and slides during the session
The credit insurer specializing in B2B corporate risks crosses an unfavorable technical threshold this Thursday, breaking through a key support level during the session in a Paris market clearly oriented downward. The decline occurs in a context of increased tension on French debt, with bond yields at unprecedented levels for more than a decade.
A support at 15.82 € broken as the SBF 120 falls by nearly 1.4 %
Coface loses 3.13 % during the session, at 15.79 €, after breaking through its 15.82 € support on the downside without recovering it since. The stock is trading below its 20-day moving average at 16.33 € (gap of 3.31 %) and below its 50-day moving average at 16.12 € (gap of 2.05 %), two levels that reflect increased selling pressure over the week, with the weekly decline reaching nearly 6.8 %. The SBF 120 also loses 1.38 % during the session, weighed down by a deteriorated market environment: The 10-year OAT yield reached 4.75 %, its highest level since July 28, 2008, while the spread with the German Bund stands at 1.17 percentage points, at its highest level since 2012.
This bond market context weighs on all Paris-listed financial stocks, with Coface trading at the bottom of the SBF 120 at rank 101 out of 120 members. The only visible resistance below the 20-day and 50-day moving averages is now the 200-day moving average, at 15.66 €, approximately 0.8 % below the current price.
A neutral RSI but weekly momentum that erases quarterly gains
The RSI at 49 remains close to equilibrium, without signaling clear oversold conditions despite the scale of the intraday decline. This RSI level contrasts with short-term momentum: over one week, the stock has lost nearly 6.8 %, which substantially reduces the 4.85 % gain accumulated over three months. Over one month, performance remains virtually flat (-0.38 %), which confirms that most of the quarterly increase was built over an earlier period, and that recent days have significantly eroded this performance.
When publishing H1 2026 results (on July 30, 2026), Coface had reaffirmed its main financial objectives, while renouncing to confirm the 50 basis points contribution target for information services to adjusted tangible return on assets in 2027, adopting a cautious tone facing an uncertain economic environment. The next technical level to monitor is the maintenance or break of the 200-day moving average at 15.66 €, the only support level still intact below the current price.
