Coface Stock Crosses Above Key Technical Threshold
The credit insurer marks one of the strongest advances in the SBF 120 during the session. The stock settles above a closely watched technical threshold, following a target revision by Berenberg. However, the macroeconomic context remains challenging, with trade and oil tensions.
Technical Breakthrough Reinforced by Berenberg's Target Upgrade
Coface stock gains 2.14% to €15.73 around 12:30 PM, while the SBF 120 is up by 0.18%. The stock crossed its resistance at €15.47 during the session and maintains above it, which allows it to move back above its three moving averages (MM20 at €15.20, MM50 at €15.44, MM200 at €15.42). The RSI at 56 supports the movement without indicating any particular tension.
This rebound occurs on the day Berenberg raises its price target from €20.90 to €22.50, with a buy rating. Based on the current price, the research firm's target offers a theoretical potential of about 43%.
Dense Macroeconomic Context Between USMCA, Middle East, and Fed
This week, Coface delivered its analysis on the revision of the USMCA that opened on July 1st, considering it unlikely that the agreement will be dismantled despite tense negotiations. This type of publication enhances the group's visibility on trade risk, the core of its credit insurance business. However, the backdrop remains challenging. The resumption of strikes between Washington and Tehran keeps a high risk premium on the energy markets, with Brent oil returning to around $76 after peaking at $78.
The FOMC minutes published on July 8th revealed a divided committee facing persistent inflation, paving the way for further tightening. During the first quarter of 2026 report (published on May 12th), the group had identified among its risks the decrease in client growth due to tariffs and tensions in the Middle East. The next step will be the potential crossing of the next resistance threshold at €16.52, now in sight after breaking the €15.47 mark.
