Colas acquires Golfe Bois Création, a Breton specialist in green spaces
The Bouygues subsidiary continues its development outside road works by integrating a Breton company specializing in green spaces and timber structures. The operation aims to consolidate its presence in western France.
A Morbihan SME with 38 employees integrated into the group
Colas completed on September 30, 2026 the acquisition of Golfe Bois Création, a family business established in Morbihan for nearly fourteen years. The company, specialized in the creation of green spaces and the development of timber structures, employs 38 staff members. It achieved a turnover of approximately 8.3 million euros in 2025. Its activities are divided into three areas: creation of green spaces, fencing and ecological engineering, the latter including in particular contracts for the development and maintenance of sensitive natural areas. Its customer base comprises equal proportions of public and private actors. The company has also developed expertise in timber structures, whether in the form of decking, footbridges, fencing or urban furniture. This know-how complements its competencies in landscaping and ecological engineering.
Strengthening territorial coverage in the West
The operation should strengthen Colas' competencies within its establishments in Vannes and Lorient, according to the press release. It aims to consolidate the group's territorial coverage in the West, from Quimper to northern Vendée. Colas also expects operational and commercial synergies, thanks to the development of comprehensive offerings and the pooling of study and procurement resources. The group also highlights complementarities with its Valormat network, particularly for the valorization of earth, timber and green waste. This acquisition is part of Colas France's diversification strategy, which is developing new expertise to complement its historical core business in road works and infrastructure, particularly in renaturalization and landscaping projects.
Management details the objectives of the operation
Thierry Méline, president of Colas France, indicated that this acquisition was in line with the group's diversification strategy and strengthened its presence in Brittany in the activities of landscaping, ecological engineering and timber structures. For his part, Xavier Le Baron, president of Golfe Bois Création, emphasized that the merger should enable the company to rely on Colas' resources and network while continuing to develop its expertise. Colas, a subsidiary of the Bouygues group, achieved consolidated turnover of 16 billion euros in 2025, of which 59% outside France, and employs 62,000 staff members.
