Colas Secures a €50M Project for the CHU of La Réunion
Colas, through its subsidiary GTOI, will participate in the construction of the new Women Parent Child Building at the CHU of La Réunion. As part of a consortium led by Demathieu Bard, the group will carry out approximately €50 million worth of work on a €140 million hospital project.
A Consortium to Modernize Hospital Services in La Réunion
The CHU of La Réunion has entrusted the design, construction, fitting out, maintenance, and upkeep of the future Women Parent Child Building to a consortium led by Demathieu Bard Construction, with GTOI (a subsidiary of Colas) as a co-builder. The project also includes the design offices SCAU (L'Atelier Architecte) and Artelia (Oasis).
Funded by the State, the Réunion Region (through FEDER funds), and the CHU, this building will consolidate activities currently spread across several inadequate sites. It will house departments of gynecology, obstetrics, pediatrics, pediatric emergencies, neonatology, and critical care.
A 26,400 sqm Facility with Over 200 Beds and Spaces
The Women Parent Child Building will span approximately 26,400 sqm across nine levels. It is set to accommodate over 200 beds and spaces, featuring modernized technical platforms, simplified pathways, and an optimized organization of logistical, medical, and patient flows to enhance care coordination and user comfort.
A Complex Project Starting Mid-2026
The total cost of the project is nearly €140 million, with around €50 million allocated to GTOI according to the order book of March 2026. Major construction work is scheduled to begin in mid-2026, with a planned operational start by the end of 2029. GTOI, long established in La Réunion, will mobilize its teams and local partners to carry out this complex hospital operation while adhering to quality and safety standards.
