DBV Technologies Shares Drop Nearly 4% Breaking Below 200-Day Moving Average
The French biotech company experiences another session of decline, while the Paris market also closes in negative territory. The stock continues its slide that started several weeks ago, now trading below all its moving averages. The price dynamics contrast with its largely positive annual trajectory.
The stock breaks its support at €3.01 and moves away from all its moving averages
DBV Technologies stock fell by 4.19% to €2.88 at close, while the SBF 120 only dropped 0.27%. The stock has broken through its support level identified at €3.01, which had previously contained declines in recent sessions.
The biotech is now trading below its three moving averages: 11.9% below the MM20 (€3.27) and 16% below the MM50 (€3.43). The price has also fallen below the MM200 at €2.97, a medium-term benchmark that had until now acted as a floor.
The RSI at 36 indicates the exhaustion of sellers over the past few weeks without yet entering an oversold zone. Over three months, the decline reaches 23.3%, while the performance over one year remains positive at 106%.
A decline that persists despite the expansion of the Viaskin program to infants
Today's movement extends a downward trend already documented this week, following the breach of a technical threshold at the beginning of the month. On Tuesday, the stock had already declined on the eve of the mixed general meeting held on June 3.
In clinical developments, DBV Technologies announced earlier this week the screening of the first participant in the phase 2 THRIVE study, which assesses the Viaskin Peanut patch in infants aged 6 to 12 months allergic to peanuts. The expansion of the program to this very young population has not been enough to stop the trend.
The session takes place in a less favorable Parisian context, with the CAC 40 down by 0.26% and the Nasdaq dropping 1.58% during trading in the United States. In the short term, the most immediate technical marker to observe is the crossing below the MM200 at €2.97.
